BTC Racing's origins can be found in 1984, when the team ran a Ford Capri in various championships. That said, the team did not start in earnest until 2006, when Bert Taylor founded the team as BTC Racing, entering two Lexus IS 200s at the end of the 2006 BTCC season.
Darren Dowling and Chris Stockton drove the two cars in the final two meetings of 2006, finishing fifteenth in the final standings. 2007 saw BTC Racing run Stockton for the full season, while Nick Leason drove the second car, but would only compete for the first three rounds. The team were demoted to last in the final standings after an engine change penalty, cancelling out Stockton's two points.
In 2008, the team replaced their Lexuses with the ex-Motorbase SEAT Toledos after the second meeting. Stockton's three points were all the team managed, and, despite buying two SEAT Leons for 2009, the team did not return to the championship the following year.
A New EraEdit
BTC Racing returned for the 2014 season, purchasing a Chevrolet Cruze RML had built for the 2012 season (but never raced). Stockton returned to the championship with the team for the year, as the team's only driver.
BTC Racing are yet to take any titles in their time in the BTCC.
