Jack Clarke is a driver in the BTCC, currently in his debut season for Crabbie's Racing.[1] Clarke is the stepson of former BTCC and Formula One driver Julian Bailey.[1]

Current Season[]

Crabbie's Racing, making their BTCC debut in 2014, are running a Motorbase Performance prepared Ford Focus ST, with Clarke running as their only driver.[2] Clarke's debut at Brands Hatch Indy did not yield any points, although he did finish each of the meetings races.[2]

Background[]

It is not surprising to see that Clarke became a BTCC driver, particularly after having a former driver as his stepfather.[3] His motorsport career began in Formula BMW in 2006, before he swapped to the Formula Palmer Audi championship in 2007.[3] In 2009, Clarke entered the Formula Two championship, although his first season was tainted after his involvement in the accident that claimed the life of Henry Surtees.[3] A further two seasons in Formula Two were followed by two years in endurance racing, before Clarke was offered the chance to drive in the BTCC.[1]

BTCC History[]

Crabbie's Racing, a new team to the BTCC in 2014 (although running with support from Motorbase Performance) offered Clarke the chance to drive their Ford Focus ST for the season.[2]
