Leonard Adams was a former British Saloon Car Championship driver and class championship runner up. Len Adams (as he was known on entry sheets) raced in the first two seasons of the BSCC, taking fifth in the overall standings in 1959.
Little is known about the racing career of Adams before he entered the BSCC, although he did enter several sports car races during his time in the BSCC.
Adams made his début in the first season of the BSCC, entering an Austin A35 backed by Bray Motors Ltd. His debut came at Brands Hatch, when the BSCC supported a Formula Two race, with Adams taking third in his class. He would return for the final to races of the year, taking two second places.
Team Speedwell took Adams under their wing for 1959, supplying him with a new A35. Three second place finishes (combined with a third and a fourth) saw Adams finish the season in fifth place overall (second in Class A), although this position could have been improved if not for accidents in practice before two of the year's races. Adams appeared once more in 1960, using a Jaguar Mk II at the Snetterton meeting. Although he claimed another podium, he did not pick up any points as his car was entered in the non-championship 1600+ class.
