Mike Campbell-Cole is a former British Saloon Car Championship driver, who raced for Don Moore between 1964 and 1965.
Background[]
Campbell-Cole's pre-BSCC experience is largely unknown.
BTCC History[]
Campbell-Cole was offered his first chance in the BSCC by Don Moore, who asked him to drive their second car at the Gold Cup meeting at the end of 1964.[1] Campbell-Cole impressed, taking third in his class despite it being his first drive in the Austin Mini Cooper S.[1]
Campbell-Cole was offered a full season with Don Moore the following year, running a Austin Mini Cooper S 970 in Class A.[2] After two podiums in the first three races, Campbell-Cole took the only victory of his BSCC career, surviving the monsoon like conditions of Goodwood in 1965.[2] A further podium saw Campbell-Cole take eighth in the championship with 26 points, although two retirements in the final three races (both of which were in accidents) when Campbell-Cole was at the front of Class A could have seen him placed higher at the end of the season.[2]
