Simon Belcher is a competitor in the BTCC, making his debut in 2014.[1] His team, Handy Motorsport, are also new comers to the series, having supported Belcher during his time in the Renault Clio Cup.[1]
Current Season[]
Belcher's start to his BTCC career began at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent.[1] Two 21st place finishes and a 23rd meant that he failed to score points on his debut, in one of the most competitive seasons in BTCC history.[2]
Background[]
Belcher's racing career came to the fore in the Renault Clio Cup in 2012, a year after Handy Motorsport launched their "Project BTCC" in order to enter the BTCC.[3] Belcher claimed two Master's Cup titles in the sport, having previously competed in the Legends Cars series for eleven years.[3] Belcher is also known for his history in the British Jet-ski championship, having taken four titles in his time in the sport from 1996-2001.[3]
BTCC History[]
So far, Belcher's only season in the BTCC has been 2014.
