Team BMR are a team in the British Touring Car Championship, currently running four cars under the name CHROME Edition Restart Racing.[1]
Current Season[]
Team BMR are currently running four cars, all of which are VW CCs, for Alain Menu, Warren Scott (the team founder/owner) Aron Smith and Jack Goff.[1] BMR started the season with two Vauxhall Insignias (one of which ran in RCIB Insurance Racing colours), with two VW CCs, before BMR replaced the older Insignias with two CCs the team had built over the summer break.[1]
History[]
Team BMR was formed in 2013, when Warren Scott founded the team to run a SEAT Leon in the BTCC that year.[2] From the Snetterton meeting onwards, Scott ran a VW CC, with support from Tony Gillam Racing, before Scott bought and merged the two teams over the winter at the end of the season.[2]
Jack Goff was named as the first driver for the team, using one of the TGR Vauxhall Insignias in RCIB Insurance Racing colours, while former double champion Alain Menu returned to the BTCC to drive one of the new CCs.[2] The other two cars were given to Aron Smith and Scott, with Scott taking the older Insignia (although both Insignias would be replaced over the summer break).[2] Smith took the team's first win at Oulton Park, following it up with a second victory at Snetterton.[2]
