Thruxton Aerodrome is a motor racing circuit in Andover,UK. The 2.3 mile track is based on RAF Thruxton, with the circuit using the perimeter road.It was opened in 1950,with its current form opened in 1968,the same year it first held a BTCC race.
With its tricky Cobb/Campbell/Segrave complex, fast Church corner and a monster of a chicane at the end,Thruxton is hell for novices. But it's the fastest track in the calendar, with a 1:25 average lap time.
Thruxton is also famed in motorcycle racing,as in the early 1960s the old runways hosted the Thruxton 500-mile endurance race for motorcycles.
