Tom Ingram is a driver in the BTCC, debuting in 2014 after rising through the ranks of the BTCC support championship, the Ginetta GT Supercup.[1]
Current Season[]
Ingram made his debut at the first round of the 2014 championship at Brands Hatch's Indy circuit.[2] Driving a Toyota Avensis for Speedworks Motorsport, Ingram made an impressive start to his BTCC career, taking eighth in race two.[2]
Background[]
Ingram's motorsport career began in go-karting, where he competed from the age of eight until he was fifteen.[3] This was followed in 2009 by his debut in the Ginetta Junior Championship, although lack of funding prevented him from completing the season.[3] Ingram won the championship a year later, before stepping up a year later to the full Ginetta GT Supercup.[3] Ingram stunned the field by taking the G50 title that same season, before repeating the feat again (this time the G55 crown instead) in 2013.[3]
BTCC History[]
Speedworks Motorsport decided to take on Ingram (whom had won arguably the most prestigious support championship for the BTCC) for 2014, using a trusted NGTC Toyota Avensis for the season.[1]
